What significant role did gen. Gregorio del pilar played during the philippine revolution and the filipino american war?
Answer:
General Gregorio del Pilar was the hero of Tirad Pass. Known as Agila in the Katipunan, he disguised (alongside with his brother Julian and friend Vicente) as a woman to steal weapons in Paombong. Later on in the Philippine-American War, del Pilar was promoted as General at the age of 22 by Emilio Aguinaldo. Gen. del Pilar also led the troops of 60 soldiers in Tirad Pass, for the escape of Aguinaldo. Sadly, del Pilar was shot on his nape and the bullet passed to his mouth. Someone said that a fellow Filipino soldier betrayed him, while others said that an American shot at him. At the age of 24, Gregorio del Pilar was dubbed as Ang Batang Heneral or The Young General*
*But in this case, del Pilar is not the youngest general. In fact, Manuel Tinio was. Tinio was promoted as general at the age of 20 while del Pilar was 22.
